If you're curious, learn more about me below. Everything you might want to know professionally and personally... and why it is important to you and your business.
I’m Bradley Richardson and I’m one of nation's leading executive recruiters and professional career development experts. I am a best-selling business author, professional speaker and lead one of the few executive search firms in the nation dedicated to finding Executive Leaders for Hospitals and Health Care systems around the nation. I have successfully placed senior and C-level executives at some of the leading healthcare organizations in America and have counseled other industry leaders such as Southwest Airlines, PWC and AT&T among others on their recruiting and professional development initiatives. A fifth generation native Texan and proud father of 3, I am also founder of "The 52 Souls Project" an initiative to challenge people to make a conscious effort to use their professional talents and career to change one persons life per week for a year. - Welcome… this is my story.
Why I Talk About This Personal Stuff and Why It Matters to YOU and can help YOU!
A quick word on why I share this all of this with you. Believe me, it is not an exercise in vanity. It is because I believe strongly that the most successful relationships, in life and business, are built around personal authentic connections...really "knowing" something about the person with whom you are doing business.
In fact, it is at the core of my business and how I approach EVERY executive search. It wasn't always that way. I had to discover this on my own over the years... more on that story later. Any moron or PR department can write a glowing release and bio that tells you about what someone has done and their accomplishments... bur you don't really know anything about them. It is easy to give a quick, impersonal corporate overview or bio and if I were selling some technology or some product, that might be all you need - BUT I deal with people.
I'm a matchmaker, a connector and whether you are an employer or a job seeker, or simply seeking advice, you're trusting your career, your future, your family, your income, your happiness, the culture and success of your organization to me.
In fact whenever you are working with any recruiter or even a coach or consultant you are trusting that person to advise you and often pay them a significant fee to make the right match for your and your company. I believe that to be successful, you need to get beneath the surface and be authentic. THIS is why I share all of this information with you.
....AND for those who just want the facts or think this personal stuff is a bunch of Kumbaya, Kool-Aid and esoteric "woo woo", realize that this is where cultures are born, developed and cultivated. If that is you, there is a is a bio and information tailored for you below. I understand some folks simple want the facts and for you there is a proper bio, highlights and facts worthy of any boardroom... but to be blunt... I'm one of the best in the business, have a proven track record ten miles long spanning almost twenty years and metrics to back it up. As the former baseball great Dizzy Dean said, "If you done it.. it ain't bragging"
The "Get To Know You" Bio
I completely buy into the idea of being multi dimensional and well rounded. I have an eclectic group of friends and connections... and an even more eclectic and diverse group of interests and activities. Life is short... so experience it all.
Yeah, it keeps it fresh, but it also gives me a different perspective on things that I can bring to my recruiting, writing, clients, candidates and the people I come in contact with.
Some of the things I'm most passionate about include art and tennis. I paint and play tennis every week. I'm working to increase my national tennis ranking (top 100 in Men's 45 & Over) and strive to have a world ranking within the next two years)
I write, read a ton, love to travel, am a foodie and yes, I like the grape! I think breakfast tacos and migas are on God's breakfast table and I'm on an eternal quest for quirky offbeat breakfast places. I do yoga frequently for the great workout, pretty women and spirituality of it all. I am very open minded to what God, The Universe or whatever you want to call it can do. I believe in faith... but that the universe rewards action.
For someone who was not a great student, I've become a constant learner and am always seeking to learn new things and become a better and more interesting man and professional. I work closely with and study with an executive coach and group in Chicago, Toronto and London called Strategic Coach.
I love Oklahoma Sooner football and Dallas Mavericks basketball... but racing (shockingly NASCAR) is my favorite sport outside of tennis. (Yes, I have a redneck collection of signed car pieces, roofs and helmets) and have gone to a variety of driving and race schools. In the words of Ricky Bobby, "I'm going fast momma!"
My "BIG ROCKS" - Why I do what I do
My #1 job, my "real job" is not being an executive recruiter - it is to raise good people and future adults!
It is why I get up in the morning and do what I do. I'm an amazing Dad. Period. And I take great pride in that. I'm close to and involved with my kids and they talk to and trust me. I'm the role model for how my boys are to treat and respect women and other people and the role model for my daughter on how she should be expect to be treated. I'm extraordinarily proud of and highly protective of them. They are more than a part of my life... they are my "big rocks" and drive the decisions and choices I make.
It is not clients, books or money... but being an example of a good man, living life fully and happily is one of the best legacies I can give them. Anyone involved with me or who simply benefits from the information I provide needs to know this. And despite any hard professional corporate decision or silly, goofy, smart a** writing... these three are my purpose and priority. To really know me is to know where my priorities lay... and I proudly share that with anyone personally or professionally. (Besides, they are really fun and not bad to look at)
I have a dog.... a pit bull we rescued
I played varsity tennis at The University of Oklahoma - Sooners

I live in downtown Dallas in a 100 year old converted warehouse turned artist / business community
I'm a 5th Generation Texan - Grew up in Lubbock (Way out in West Texas)
I lived in NYC for 5 years
I wrote my first book at 26 and sold it to Random House. It was my journal I kept as a young professional in my first job.
I moved away from home at age 15 to play tennis and live with 15 of the best kids in the world, go to school 1/2 day and be coached by a former Wimbledon Champion's coach for 6 hours a day. Several of those kids went on to reach the quarters of Wimbledon & US Open.
